Wuxi First Worsted Mill is situated north of Huisan Hill, bordering beautiful Taihu Lake in Wuxi. It is a state-owned enterprise with the history of textile production for over 70 years. It has established two joint-ventures: Wuxi Zhong-Ya Wool Spinning, Weaving and Dyeing Co., Ltd, and Wuxi Dong-Ya Wool Spinning Co., Ltd, cooperated with Toa Bo Co., Ltd (JAPAN), N.I. Teijin Shoji Co., Ltd (JAPAN), and Sumikins Bussan Kaisue Ltd (JAPAN).
In the enterprise, there is a whole set of production line from top-dyeing, spinning, weaving and finishing equipped with 20,000 worsted spindles, advanced automatic winders, gripper looms, rapier looms and some advanced finishing machines. Its capacity of annual output is 2 million meters of worsted fabrics and 1,000 tons worsted yarn (weaving yarn or knitting yarn). All products are in favor on the overseas and domestic market. 80% of its products are exported and 10 million USD are retuned every year. The worsted fabrics of ??Maple Leaf?? trade mark have been approved to label the wool-mark of ??Pure & New Wool?? by the Wool-mark Company. The enterprise passed the quality system certification of ISO 9002 in 1998.
